Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. In her early years, she went to her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma's goal was to be an actor. As a young girl of 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes on singing, acting, and dancing. Her performances had been in numerous Stagecoach or school shows by the time she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford Theatre instructor.
